Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 May 2026
KTS ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website (koreatravelsecretary.com) and our concierge services, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly:
- Email address — when you join our waitlist or purchase Founders Access
- Name — when you message us for service or fill out a form
- Travel and request details — such as your travel dates, hotel address, restaurant preferences, or specific service requests, voluntarily shared via WhatsApp or other channels
- Payment information — handled and stored by Paddle, our payment processor. We do not see or store full credit card numbers.
Information we collect automatically:
- Usage data — pages visited, links clicked, time on site, referring URL, via analytics tools (PostHog)
- Device information — browser type, operating system, approximate location (city-level), IP address
- UTM parameters — when you arrive from a marketing link, we record the source (e.g., Reddit, Facebook) to understand which channels work
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to:
- Provide the services you request (book restaurants, place orders, communicate with third parties on your behalf)
- Send you confirmations, receipts, and service-related updates
- Send you launch notifications and product updates if you opted in
- Process payments through Paddle
- Improve our website and services (e.g., understand which features are useful)
- Respond to your messages and provide customer support
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Ever.
3. Sharing Your Information
We share your information only with:
- Service providers we use to operate KTS — Paddle (payments), PostHog (analytics), Google Workspace (email), Loops or similar (newsletter), Tally (forms). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
- Korean service providers on your behalf — when you ask us to book a restaurant, place an order, or call a taxi, we share the minimum necessary information (e.g., your name, party size, time) with that provider to complete the request.
- Authorities, when required by law — if compelled by valid legal process.
4. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies, mainly through PostHog, to:
- Recognize you across visits
- Measure how visitors use our site
- Understand which marketing channels bring people to KTS
You can block cookies through your browser settings, but some features of the site may not work properly.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers operated by our service providers (typically located in the United States or European Union). We use industry-standard security practices, but no system is 100% secure. If a breach occurs, we will notify affected users as required by law.
We retain your data only as long as needed:
- Email addresses: until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- Service request details: up to 3 years for record-keeping and tax purposes
- Payment records: as required by Korean tax law (typically 5 years)
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Object to certain uses of your data
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time (link in every email)
- Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing
To exercise these rights, email hello@koreatravelsecretary.com. We respond within 30 days.
7. International Users
KTS is operated from South Korea. If you're outside Korea, your data may be transferred to and processed in Korea or in countries where our service providers operate (such as the US or EU).
If you're in the EU/UK, you have additional rights under GDPR. If you're in California, you have rights under CCPA. Contact us at hello@koreatravelsecretary.com to exercise them.
8. Children's Privacy
KTS is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Third-Party Links
Our website may link to third-party sites (e.g., Paddle for payments, WhatsApp for messaging). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. For material changes, we'll notify you via email.
